Effects Of Sugar and Carbohydrates
Did you know that sugar and carbohydrates cause heart attacks, strokes, diabetes, and cancer?
The second part of the equation is HDL. HDL is the good cholesterol. HDL increases as we eat fish, consume fish oil, or consume other Omega-3 products like flax seed oil. I recommend at least 2-4 grams per day. Omega-3 fatty acids are anti- inflammatory and make up the cell wall of every cell. Therefore, it decreases the inflammatory response to sunlight, infection, or whatever trauma. To help decrease inflammation, it is essential to avoid all vegetable or seed oils which contain Omega-6 fatty acids. See the fish oil blog post for more information.
So, the goal to better health is to decrease your triglyceride levels and increase your HDL levels. Below is a video on the triglyceride/HDL ratio and how easy it is to reverse heart disease. If you have desires to learn more, and you desire to prevent heart disease, hypertension, or diabetes, please make an appointment.
